1903 – 1988

  • 1903: Born February 17 in New York City to Emile and Estelle (Freund) Meyer
  • 1926: Works for William Lescaze, Architect
  • 1928: Graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Architecture
  • 1928: Married Schon Landman on October 16 (one son)
  • 1928: One year trip to Europe; meets Le Corbusier
  • 1929: Works for Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue, Architect and Thompson & Churchill Architects
  • 1932: Establishes practice with Morris B. Saunders
  • 1935: Moved to Dallas, Texas and establishes practice as Howard Meyer, Architect
  • 1937: Sanger Residence completed
  • 1939: Zale Residence completed
  • 1949: Storey Residence completed and Meyer serves as Secretary, Dallas Chapter, AIA
  • 1950: Lipshy Residence completed
  • 1950: 3525 Turtle Creek Boulevard completed
  • 1953: Hexter Title and Abstract Building completed
  • 1957: Temple Emanu-El completed; collaboration with Max Sandfield, William W. Wurster, Gyorgy Kepes, Anni Albers et al and Meyer receives Fellowship in American Institute of Architects
  • 1959: Temple Emanu-El receives national AIA Award of Merit
  • 1964: Juror, National Public Housing Administration Awards
  • 1968-69: Serves on Greater Dallas Planning Council
  • 1970: IGC Administrative Training Building completed
  • 1983: Clark / Lipshy Residence Restoration completed
  • 1987: Archives transferred to Alexander Archives, UT Austin by Howard Meyer
  • 1988: Meyer dies of heart attack in Dallas, January 10
  • 1991: Temple Emanu-El receives Dallas AIA 25-Year Award
