Exhibition

This exhibition provides a concise survey of Israeli cinema from its beginnings up until the end of the 20th century, while highlighting a few holdings in film from the UT Libraries Israeli Cinema & Film Collection. It gives a short overview of the filmic production in Israel from its beginnings in pre-1948 Palestine until the end of the 1990s. Each section describes cinematic trends or phenomena, and shows how they were analyzed through films.

This exhibition was curated by Uri Kolodney, librarian for Hebrew, Jewish, & Israel Studies, and for Film & Video, and was set up online by Jyotsna Vempati, Global Studies Digital Projects GRA.
