"When Mustafa Abu Ali, a member of the Sudanese envoy to the United Nations, started to look for maps of Sudan several people recommended he contact the Perry-Castañeda Library Map Collection.

On March 29, 2017 he called the Map Collection to request a visit. As it happens, I was going to be in New York City at the same time he wanted to visit Austin. So he decided to visit Austin the following weekend and invited me to visit him at the UN while I was in New York. How could I refuse?!"
