Alma Lopez is a queer Chicana artist who uses her art to explore feminist perspectives on Latine culture. In 2001, she created "Our Lady," a digital photo montage that features a woman in a two-piece bathing suit, adorned with flowers, superimposed with the image of the Virgin de Guadalupe, a significant religious figure in Latine culture. Through this piece, Lopez portrays the intricate connections between womanhood, gender, and religion. However, the piece faced controversy due to the representation of a religious figure in a revealing outfit and breasts exposed by another figure in the artwork. The Catholic Church took issue with the artwork. La Telaraña is a series of Lesbian Latina newsletters released by Colombian writer and activist Tatiana de la Tierra. The newsletters were created with the aim to stimulate creativity, dialogue, and community among the Latina lesbian population. Mixed up! a zine about mixed race queer + feminist experience is a zine created through collaboration with various artists and writers. The zine aims to highlight narratives from Mixed Race individuals about race and ethnicity, as well as challenge frameworks and explore identity, experiences, and relationships from a feminist and queer lens. The zine showcases illustrations, short essays, and poetry. "Crushlandia" is a poem and illustration created by Sabrina Iborolla exploring the joy of a lesbian Latina relationship. —— ¡Mezclado! un zine sobre la experiencia mixta de raza queer + feminista es un zine creado a través de la colaboración con varios artistas y escritores.
