Rewinki, chicha festival

Rewinki is a festival celebrated by the Iskonawa to strengthen social bonds among members and neighbors. The chicha, corn beer shared among all participants, is essential for this celebration.

While the women are in charge of preparing the corn beer days in advance, the men hunt for several days to provide the food that will be offered at the end of the festival. The beginning of the celebration is announced by banging the ako drum. The Iskonawa celebrate by singing and drinking.

The collection includes chants sung by the participants during the drinking of chicha. Likewise, narratives also include references to the clothing and food found in this celebration.
